These days it is quite normal to be concerned about your security on the Internet, so I want to reassure you that this website is not going to spy on you collect any unusual information about you. The only information I track is how people found my website, and what they do when they get there (in other words which pages are the most popular). I do this using normal server log software, and I will probably be upgrading to Google stats soon.
In the future, I plan to launch a newsletter. When I do this, I’ll be collecting peoples e-mail addresses and names so that I can send them new editions of the newsletter through e-mail. This will be a voluntary process (i.e. if you want the newsletter you will need to tell me what your e-mail address and name is, because I am not a mind reader and I cannot access this information on your computer.) If anybody wants to cancel their free subscription, it will be very easy to do so, by clicking on a link in the e-mail.
I hate spam as much as anyone else, so I will not be selling anyone’s details to a commercial third-party. At some point in the future I might sell this website, and hand over the newsletter to the new owner, in which case they will be bound by this same privacy policy.
My name is Robert Walker, and I have written this website to help people get more performance out of their computer. I used to have difficulties with slow computer, and by looking on the Internet I can see that it is quite common problem.
